people seemed to like the last one, so here's number 2! my feature friday journals are for artists i think are underappreciated and deserve some views - please give them a look! (my usual criteria is having lower than 15-or-so faves on any given art, generally, but i am pretty lax about this.)

really excellent use of color and shape, i love the perspective on this piece especially. this artist is really good with surreal, vivid artwork, almost like some sort of fever dream...
this artist has some really charming art that often reminds me of richard scarry's work! really great use of rounded lines to convey form - and very much has a storybook quality!
beautiful composition work, in this piece and in their other works! their colors are very warm and vintage, or a little grungy at times - which really accentuates the sort of subjects they draw!
and where would we be without at least one 3d spotlight,,, all-around gorgeous colors, i've always wanted to learn about how to get this sort of look in my 3d stuff! in general the artist has a really good sense for gorgeous scenery and color choices. their character design is also really top notch!
i don't really dabble in closed species anymore - but even if you don't, this piece is really great on its own! really impactful and powerful composition with gorgeous colors. the clouds are my favorite part, i think - they're roughly rendered in a way that's really charming and visually pleasing.

i gotta say, wow! this artist is really excellent with defining values. nice warm hues, and the glass rendering is absolutely stellar. i think it'd be fun to learn more about the world these owls are living in (as there's at least one other piece in the artist's gallery that is in the same vein)! really enchanting.
the rendering on this is really soft and pleasing to the eye - the way the characters are lined really lends itself to guiding the eye across the artwork. also had to shout this one out cuz the foreground character makes me very happy to see as someone who is fat as well <3 really love this artist's character design too, especially the design of the green/teal one here!
and i think that's all for this feature friday! i like to bookmark things for potential feature so if you see me fave your piece, Watch Out...........
