my oc valerie and her digimon partner, yasyamon!! the fact she's stepping into the darkness is a pretty on the nose metaphor for the story she's in haha where she winds up becoming the final villain ( ᐛ )و in this verse the digimon partners are sort of a physical manifestation of the humans' innermost/true self so yasyamon stopping before following valerie here is like, the part of her that wants to go back and not follow the path she already chose
