Yet another creative writing assignmentIt was the strangest thing I have ever seen, with tubes and wires. Not even in the rest of this place I had known for the last five years as Experiment 7G, the one specifically built to cause structures to crash and burn, I hadn’t seen anything as weird as this. Through those tubes flowed teal, murky water, and through the main chamber of this thing I could see the silhouette of a trapped experiment, probably a 2 or 3-year-old child since it was too large to be a developing fetus, along with colorful rainbow fish. I took out the card I had snuck from one of the weird, furry creatures that ran this place and put it into a slot in the machine, seeing if anything would react, since this card had allowed me to go anywhere I wanted for some time. As soon as I planted the card into the slot, the chamber opened, water drained, and as it was draining, showed me a young boy with strangely colored hair, wearing practically nothing except for a pair of deep gray shorts that were thankfully the only thing keeping the child from being buck naked. The boy walked out of the chamber door and hugged me. “Are you my mommy?” He asked, looking at me with his odd heterochromic eyes and breathing as if he’d just been rescued from certain asphyxiation. “I don’t know,” I replied back to him, eyes drooping. “Who even are you?” The boy piped up again. “Experiment 4Q?” he mentioned, seemingly as if that was the only name he had ever known. I picked him up. “What did they do to you?” I asked this boy, now pressed against my standard experiment clothing. “I don’t know,” he responded. “They certainly did something to you if you think I’m your mommy,” I said back to the child as I grabbed some nearby experiment duds, putting them onto his starved-looking body. Then I thought of my escape plans I’d been plotting for years. Ever since my teenage self was abducted by men in yellow hazmat suits, I’d been plotting to escape this hell-hole. I finally had the opportunity to now, but I felt I shouldn’t be selfish, either. This boy should be able to have a normal life. Everyone trapped in this facility should. “I should take you with me,” I said to him right before rushing out of the room with the strange machine, ducking left towards the exit sign with him slung onto my back, smiling. Before I knew it, there was a crowd of furry creatures, armed with the newest ETODD weapons, to the front of me. “You’re not going anywhere, 7G,” one growled at me before shooting a plasma ball in my direction. Soon, there were hundreds of plasma balls heading right for me and this boy. I dodged every single one of them, ducking and turning every second or so, before I outstretched my hand and blazing blue fire blasted the poor fluffy science twerps far away from my view. I continued running, heading straight for the exit sign. Soon, there were more creatures with large matches in their hands, running straight for me. I jumped right over them as they tried to use the matches to set fire to my body, not knowing I was immune to it. Next, I encountered a hall of doors, and opened them all with the card I stole. But soon enough, just as the experiments in those rooms escaped from their prisons, we were surrounded by more furry creatures… Except this time, they had backup. The ones in the back were armed not just with ETODD plasma launchers, but with actual guns. I started shooting fire everywhere as I slowly began to be unable to perceive sounds as well due to the rain of gunshots, coming from the back of the lineup of furry creatures, being captured by an experiment behind me with the ability of superspeed as the rest of the experiments went all in for the attack. It was pure chaos. The child was crying. “Mommy, I don’t wanna die!” he yelled loudly as he still clung to my back, breathing heavily. Everything after that was a blur. I remember shooting pillars of fire. I remember the rest of the experiments brutally slaughtering some of the furry creatures with sharp teeth, memory-erasing gazes, toxic spit. Soon, all of the creatures that had tormented us for years were a burned pulp on the ground, nothing more than ash and atoms. Everyone left the laboratory, walking out to start new lives in the regular world: a warm, bright paradise at this point. I walked into a nearby town with the boy shortly after that, with him clinging to my hand: shaken, but alive and mostly unharmed. Soon, a person noticed us. “Are you two okay?”
