the death of chantal pt. 2chantal and alex woke up, tired and angry. chantal’s rage cauterized the bag on her face and destroyed her handcuffs, then she released her friend. the cave was covered with blood and vines, and strange inscriptions were filling some walls. the corpses laid just next to the rock they were tied to before. the duo was horrified, and tried looking for any escape and finding where the corpses came from. eventually, a strange voice emitted in the cave, singing some rock song. terrified, chantal’s weapons activated, ready to attack. but as the voice grew louder, an old mancame out, wearing a mix of 1970s sci-fi tropes and wilderness stereotype clothing, a big scar on his right cheek, and holding a tiny globe. chantal realized who it was, her creator, 4 years after being stolen from his comforting grasp. chantal stared at him, crying and said, “my creator?” the man then cried as well, and hugged her. alexander stated, “you’re chantal’s creator?! i must have seen you on tv once as a young boy.” which the man stated, “yes. the scientists that stole my sweet angel tried to kill me after she was kidnapped,but i hid in this cave to escape detection. i have a portable lab i made 25 years ago, when i was 20.’ it keeps me sane. also, yes,i used to star in interviews about the apocalypse and ufos.” the man held chantal in his comforting and loving arms, but chantal was still surprised how he recognized her, and the man was even more surprised how she recognized him. the man stated, “these bastards didn’t change chantal’s beautiful face, nor how she looked like without her braids. for chantal recognizing me, i’ve had this lightning scar in my right cheek ever since i made you from a freak accident.” before they could finish their reunion, the cult members found them. “well, well,well,” they stated, two of them holding a hippie with chains in his arms, and a strange scar shaped triangle in his head. alexander recognized the triangle, the shape the three corpses were laid in. the man recognized the hippie known as “softie” who was a well known celebrity back in his hometown for his hippie rock songs and his charity work, but had to quit due to a scandal leading him to be considered too “satanic” for the public. the hippie stated, “well, at least one of my die-hard’s is here with his little friend.” the cultists put him on a giant stone with runes, then stabbed his chest and burned his eyeballs, while the hippie screamed for help. chantal’s creator tried to help with his “life-come-back 4000” but it failed, and the hippie became nothing but ash, fire and blood. chantal screamed at the cult for killing someone who she and her creator loved so much, but the cultist with the knife stated, “would you protect someone who was a danger to society?” while her creator cussed the cultist out and stated multiple slurs not heard since the civil war. alexander didn’t know the man musically besides of the scandal, but found his bag, covered in blood and filled with food, porn magazines, water, a med kit and a note. the note read: “today is may 31st, 1986. i am the satanic mess you used to call “softie”. i am stuck in this cave after my car got totaled in a bombing, and to make matters worse,[redacted], also known as the earthshaker has made me its slave. i am bound to it, forced to be part of its horrors. also, sir victor campbell, i have bad news. the earthshaker wants your angel/companion bot chantal for 3 reasons. first, osteopax formed an alliance with the cult that it is controlled by, and the beast is happy to do anything the cult wants. second, i remember that there was a core created to disable the beast, and chantal was forcibly given something resemblant of the core, so the beast is too stupid to know the cores are not the same. also, [redacted]” the cultist told the trio, “we will sacrifice one of you for the earthshaker to come alive again. osteopax will thrive, and we will bring this world to peace. the ritual is in 2 hours, and we will kidnap you if you don’t come. plus, we have something for all of you.” she revealed a strange statue of a cherubim with it’s wings revealing a giant hole filled with fire and black slime and blood. she threw all the corpses from earlier in the fire, and an earthquake occured, tentacles and eyes went out of the pit. she later stated, “if you want to make it, you must kill one of your friends and bring him or her to cinciphela, who transfers all souls to the earthshaker. either one of you or all of you will be our prisoners, and we are not friendly to those who we keep.” the trio stared at each other, knowing one of them must die to protect the rest for torment.
