So we dont normally keep up on seasonal anime but one has caught our interest this month, let us yap and persuade at least one of you to watch ~ Anne Shirley ~

[ Anne Shirley ] is based on a old 1908 novel Anne of Green Gables by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery <- we learned this fact later but we are drawn to any book over 100 years old by nature of who we are. Old books are capsules into the given / and or presumed knowledge of the century in which they are published. You can (with some effort) trace the genealogy of a country by their old books.

What did the elementary arithmetic books look like in late 1800's early 1900's united states for example, have you ever seen one? What was practical knowledge then and did it carry over in someway to the now. Without this knowledge of what our grandparents learned and what their forbearers decided was the most important to educate said children on we are practically navigating through our current historical period half-blind with no new foundational topology of thought, its all terrain no structure [Old Examples: Aristotle -> Aquinas | Enlightenment -> Positivism]

Oh wait sorry Anne Shirley; Its beautiful and fluid in its depiction of its genus loci - its completely sincere in itself and it embodies its joy and sarrow without embarrassment. Its refreshing to just exist in its world; one that doesn't hide behind itself with irony and deflection.

With -gestures- everything. We've noticed that we keep wanting to flatten ourself; to speak efficiently. Seek stasis; Curl up and fold away that wandering part. Lines that enjoy reading the world and that which dreams of better futures. Its a nice anime that feels at home next to our mental and physical stravaiging we've been doing since the start of the year. A permeable membrane of being that just wants to soak in its environment and rediscover what identity is - even. Did we ever have one in the first place? Our boundaries blur too easily and the present moment is always leaking and this anime asks if you sat with the earth and are you able to carry a small bit of momentum in your core and thats nice and what we need.

Tldr: Very Enjoyable anime with pretty animation - worth a watch
