Inspired by the beautiful wings of these often disregarded earwigs. I took it a little bit further and added a touch of cosmic horror with subtle eye-like markings on their wings, paying homage to the pop-culture idea of the "biblical accurate angel". The overall silhouette in the pinned specimen pose loosely resembled a cross, another contributor to the name!
It's up to you to decide what the name means, should it be taken at face value? Is it cowardly? Has it overcome it's fearful nature and spread it's wings to show its confidence?
