im a huge mario fan for as long as i can remember, ever since i got a wii as my first console ive been hooked on the brothers. i remember when i watched the first movie i really liked it; its not a masterpiece by any means, but it serves its purpose as a fun kids movie and a nice celebration of the mario franchise for the fans who came to see it. needless to say i liked it for what it was. the mario galaxy movie just aint doin it for me

the thing with the first one is that i wouldnt say its a good movie, but its a decent enough movie that i can see past the issues and enjoy it as a fan. this new one has too many issues for me to move them aside. it suffers from a lot of illumination problems and a lot of general problems that bad movies have. the pacing is horrendous, the characters are less non existent than they were in the previous movie, the story makes decisions that are downright incomprehensible, and its just tiring to watch; im sorry guys, i dont recommend this movie, like at all. if you still wanna watch it thats fine (in fact i encourage you to, form your own opinion) i think its a fine movie for kids, but for a good majority of people (even hardcore mario fans) theres not much for you here.
