has it ever happened to you that youre watching a movie about something youre knowledgable on and suddenly go "huh... thats not right"? well do i got something to tell you.
theres a lot of things in westerns that are unintentionally very funny, but if done extremely wrong, theres none as hilarious as the revolver with infinite ammunition. a revolver only has 6 shots, they dont call it a six-shooter for nothing; so tell me why so many westerns have revolvers that never run out of rounds?
normally its pretty subtle or otherwise ambiguous, characters usually fire 4 or 5 shots per shootout and never reload, but sometimes it can be done so, so wrong. i think the most hyperbolic example ive seen is in the 1993 movie tombstone, an otherwise great western (so ive heard, havent watched it yet :P), where during the o.k corral shootout doc holiday fires checks notes 15 shots in one revolver and 7 in another (right after firing 3 shots in a double barrel shotgun); in total thats almost double than what 2 revolvers can get you.
is this enough of a problem to ruin movies? no, not at all. is it extremely funny if you notice? absolutely. i hope this doesn't ruin any movie youll watch in the future, i know for me it wont. if you feel inclined to do so, comment a moment where a movie got something youre interested in incredibly wrong, i wanna see more of this phenomenon.
goodbye, have a good rest of your day :]
