Okay usually I don't post about non-art things BUT since this website was integral to getting my rollator funded I wanted to update :)
It arrived today and I've had it for about an hour and already know it was absolutely the right choice ^^ I'm still hoping in the future I can get a power chair or something for longer outings, but a rollator is absolutely the perfect sweet spot for this very moment!! It's got a basket so I can store all my Medical Necessities (and other silly things because I will never sacrifice my silliness) and I bought an additional cup holder so I can bring my water bottle with me no matter what. If you didn't know, the main condition that pushed me to buy this is POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome), and although it doesn't Cure my symptoms, hydration DOES help a lot. So not having to sacrifice my water over not having a proper place to store my water bottle is huge. Plus in day to day life I'm out of sight out of mind, so having the bottle In My Sight will help me remember to drink more LOL
Plus Of Course, the fact that now I just HAVE a seat everywhere I go and the fact that I don't have to stress about all the bus seats being taken or bus stops with No seats at all is AMAZING. I have so many horror stories from back when I was still able to work irl, I've wound up sitting on the cold wet pavement due to things like that. WELL NO LONGER!!!!!!
I've only used it for like an hour and haven't actually gone out with it yet, mostly because I'm a bit nervous about getting Judged because people have weird ideas that people my age can't possibly need an aid usually marketed towards seniors, but Fuck that. This thing is awesome. Thank you again Ry for making this possible ^^ I did also happen to get enough commissions to be able to cover it even if I didn't get that donation, but STILL that was very touching and absolutely cemented that I love this website and community XD
