Dream bedroom challenge moments! Got this done pretty early. Thought I'd have more that I'd want to do with this but I kinda got stumped and was like well, this is fine.
In this, the main trio are staying in a hotel room meant for heros and other very important people after banishing a demon that was attacking the people living in this town. Possibly the fanciest and most comfy bedroom they've had in years! I mean, to our standards it might not be that fancy, but to people on Rhun it is. Fanciness on Rhun is much more about intent, and much less about a flaunting of wealth. Not like wealth could exist there anyways, there is no real government or monetary system there.
Everyones pretty darn happy to be here in there! Offal actually has some clothes on since its cold, Deja is snuggled up in a blanket watching the fish, and Demonhand is feeling a bit tired since he's the one that had to shapeshift into his monster form and wrestle a huge 10 foot tall demon beast while Offal and Deja figured out the spell to open a portal back to its homeworld. He'll enjoy the room more tomorrow morning once he's rested up, I'd say.
I injected some worldbuilding into this so lemme go into detail, lets see...
First off, this hotel room is in a town built by humans and sirrcay. Sirrcay are an entirely new species of mine now, they're long and slender cat weasels with a ton of fur all over them. They tend to live in very cold places, such as these mountains. A lot of their religions and cultures involve sun worship and a general enjoyment of warmth.
This town is no different. The warm tones especially are like, they're meant to be calming and comforting in this cold area. The sun motif on the carpet is meant to be a sort of protective symbol. The sun, in this culture, is sort of a symbol for both denoting bravery and for invoking protection from the currently unnamed sun god. There's also some suns on the ceiling! I think they're stars actually from a brush pack I downloaded, link is in my regular bio on here. But the suns a star right? It counts! I hope those aren't a symbol for something else.
On the left wall we see two paintings of the dragon god of the sun, a rather important figure in some sirrcay religions. Being cold weather animals, I'm sure you'd get why they'd worship something associated with warmth and the sun. The painting on our left is a typical depiction of her. The one on our right is more interesting, as it's showing the last time she appeared to mortals that weren't her followers. It was in the very town this hotel lies in! She manifested in during a solar eclipse, for whatever reason.
The candles, of course well firstly they're fire woo yeah I don't have to explain that to you. But they also have these geometric patterns on them, the same that are associated with the sun god. Because she's super long and moves in this weird blocky way, eventually blocky long lines invoke her image and become important symbols in this culture all on their own.
What else... Oh, there's a betta fish in a bowl! Rhun, you may know, is a post-apocalyptic version of an alternate Earth. It's just that the apocalypse happened a few hundred years ago so it's no big deal. Humans and animals from Before ("Before" = The pre-apocalyptic world with only humans.) still exist and are around, but they're still kind of rare. Animals like this that aren't mutated in any way are usually referred to as classic [insert species name here]s. Having a classic betta like this would be a bit of a flex indeed, y'know just saying "Look at the connections we have!"
The gang has some books and suitcases sitting around because this is still during the time that they're primarily travelling and researching demons, so they've got crap everywhere.
Hmm what else what else. Well that's all the purposeful stuff. I'm not quite sure what Offal is drinking there. I think it's some sort of carbonated fruit juice. Oh, Demonhand is eating a dragon's egg fruit! Normally one would need a knife to tear into that fruits thick leathery skin, but being a vampire, Demonhand can do what vampires do best and gouge into it with his incisors.
There's more stock fantasy fruit in the fruit bowl but I don't have info on those yet oops. I think the long stringy fruits are very sweet and candy-like.
