new gender who dis
bad intro, basically at the end of this year I realized I hate conforming to be strictly female and I want to explore my options so uhh
I’m nonbinary now! new fursona refs coming in soon so uh stay tuned!
Hiya folks! I thought I would give a bit of a small update on things going on and looking forward into June!
First up, Art Fight is coming up! I intend to participate this year but I will not grind for the entire month, I'm just in it for fun! Here is my profile if you are interested in attacking any of my characters, I will revenge or friendly fire back!
https://artfight.net/~Bargin_Bella
Secondly, the Steam Next Fest is coming up in June! I will be playing a lot of the demos on display, but I am heavily looking forward to the Big Boy Boxing one! I really hope I do not end up playing it for the whole month (no promises lol)
I will be uploading more artwork in the meantime, and I'm looking forward to June! That's it for now, see ya'll later!
Original meme by smobs! https://sheezy.art/smobs/journal/oddly-specific-questions-meme
RULES:
Answer each question accurately and honestly. Skip anything you don't know.
Art programs you have but don't use?
I have a drawing tablet and Krita on my laptop, but as my life continues to get hectic, I find myself unable to put in the effort of drawing art pieces with it. It's mostly used for playing Gartic Phone with friends nowadays lol.
Is it easier to draw someone facing left, right, or forward?
Right! Because it's the side of my dominant hand.
What ideas come from when you were little?
Not really from when I was little, but from my teen years. Rex is the only OC I have who came from my old middle school to high school days who is still drawn and developed on a daily basis.
Favorite character or subject that's a bitch to draw
A majority of my old characters who I don't exactly feel connected to anymore. As for subjects, big developed backgrounds like building shots filled with cars and such, are absolute hell for someone who can't draw that stuff (who also has to for a fancomic she's making lmao)
Estimate of how much of your art you post online VS. the art you keep for yourself?
Most of my original artworks and fanart are posted! Either here or otherwise! As for anything I don't post, it's mostly drawings for my boyfriend or internet pals, or sketches or unfinished works that I don't feel like posting.
Anything that might inspire you subconsciously? (e.g. This horse wasn't meant to look like The Last Unicorn but I see it.)
Don Bluth's movies have a big influence on my art, along with several cartoons I watched as a kid. Spongebob, Fanboy and Chum Chum, My Little Pony, I can name a lot more.
A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate?
Sculpting. I love looking at these big beautiful sculptures but I cannot imagine actually making one myself. I would be so scared about if it's coming out right, or if it'll fall and shatter.
What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in?
A universe a majority of my old characters come from. The basic premise is that a demon, alien, and man with blue skin must stop a fallen angel and his minion from ending the world in an apocalypse. The whole thing reeks of my old edgy teen phase and it may be a long time before I return to it.
Favorite piece of clothing to draw?
T-shirts and sweaters! They are generally a really easy thing to draw, and I like characters who wear them!
Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what?
Music playlists on my Spotify, Defunctland/Nick Crowley/Nexpo/BlameitonJorge/Vinesauce Joel on Youtube, and occasional silence if I get too focused.
Easiest part of body to draw?
Faces and torsos! Not really great at drawing the other stuff by I try!
A creator who you admire but whose work isn't your thing?
Nobody comes to me off the top of my head, as long as it isn't problematic (aka literally disgusting or supporting hate groups, etc) I think it's valid art!
Any favorite motifs?
Not sure how to answer this one. I like goofy aesthetics but also dark ones for my OCs and stories, I think that's what motifs can include?? lol
Where do you draw? (Don't drop your IP address, this just means do you doodle at a park or something?)
In my room usually showing my phone my triple chins as I doodle my blorbos.
Something you are good at but don't really have fun doing?
Hands. I'm okay at drawing them some times but I hate drawing them and will delete an arm if I can just to avoid drawing a hand.
Do you eat/drink when drawing? If so, what?
I usually have either soda or water by my bed as I draw! I leave my room to eat, and sometimes I forget to do to because 'I wanna get this drawing done my mac n cheese can wait' and then by that time it's 9:30pm at night and everyone in my house is sleeping.
Favorite inanimate objects to draw? (e.g. Food, nature.)
Anything related to sea or dark nightly environments.
Something everyone else finds hard to draw but you enjoy?
Eyes! They can be a bit hard to get down at first, but it's one of the things that comes naturally to me when I draw.
Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways?
Realism! I cannot for the life of me commit to it but I always love seeing it!
What physical exercises do you do before drawing, if any?
I don't really do hand exercises before I draw...perhaps I should lol.
Do you use different layer modes?
It all depends on the piece I'm working on, the one I use the most is Overlay to help blend my watermarks into my work.
Do your references include stock images?
My references are usually either characters from medias that I am drawing, or small stock images of objects I need to add into the piece. I should use a lot more pose references though.
Something your art has been compared to that you were NOT inspired by?
Hazbin Hotel was something my art was somewhat compared to in High School. I don't hate the show (I watch Helluva Boss once in a blue moon when new episodes come out) but I don't really vibe with art comparisons if it's just "haha ur artstyle looks like X"
What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended?
Nothing really comes to mind, but the way I drew snails as a child were wildly inappropriate according to my mother.
Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with?
I usually jump into art pieces without a warm-up, then again, some of my artworks ARE warm-ups lol.
Any art events you have participated in the past? (e.g. Zines.)
The most recent art event I have joined is a small comic project to celebrate Punch Out's 40th anniversary this year!
Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically?
I usually use any of the things I enjoy in my work! Nothing that doesn't inspire me doesn't really come to my mind.
What piece of yours do you think is underrated?
My Big Boy Boxing fanart doesn't get much recognition, but that's mostly because the fanbase is small.
I saw this meme going around and I thought I’d give it a shot!

Hiya! I'm popping in to say that I have a Ko-Fi! https://ko-fi.com/barginbella
I currently offer cheap commissions and a few downloadable items like an f2u anthro snake base and a wallpaper I made myself! I want to update it with more products in the future, so if you're interested in my work so far, keep an eye out!
You don't have to, but you can also buy me a soda if you like my work! Anything is appreciated!
I can also say that my profile is done being edited! (for now)
You can click on the items on the BarginBoard to be directed to informational pages, where I got certain stamps, and even music! I'm kinda proud of my controlled chaos haha.
