Think Jupiter but sad, which is I assuming what the original person who made this wanted the theme to be. Pathosboard1.png The second thing I notice about pathos is the unusual icons.All the icons were replaced with two different Blue mountains, a honeycomb bubble thing, an upside down blue jungle and three others that I couldn't identify. icons.png After I looked over the icons I went over to see the new monster and... Biollante Godzilla vs Biollante didn't come out until 1989 so it's probably just a rom hack which gives me some questions but I can ask them later. Pathos’ map song was the first new song I heard in the game, it's a little bit hard to describe but I'll try to. The first part of the song sounded like it was lagging a little bit with some random melodies added to it. It had a little fast part in the middle but then started to play again until switching to a completely different song at the end before turning into buzzing until looping back to the beginning. It wasn't the most welcoming song but I've heard worse. Anyways I moved Godzilla to one of the blue mountain levels that had replaced the jungle icons and started the level.The level was consistent with Blue mountains and a red planet in the background. Something odd about the mountains is that they have a shredded look to them. Bluemountains1.png It doesn't look that glitching, it looks too far intentional for that. I quickly noticed something else about these levels, there are barely any enemies Most of the time these levels are filled with nothing but sometimes they can be filled with one or two rocks that look like tentacles. But sometimes they're filled with two different enemies, a weird flying crying worm thing and a goblin shark thing. Bluemountains2.png Bluemountains3.png But when you were playing mothra the goblin shark thing never appeared for some reason. Most other levels have differences between them when you play with Godzilla or mothra but I'll go over them when I get to them. So without having to focus on anything, I listened to the music while walking through the level unopposed. The music had a sorrowful feel to it. It would have been rather pleasant, had I heard it in a normal game. I flew through the blue mountains and moved on to the next level type,The weird honeycomb level when I started the orange level and my eyes were assaulted with a grotesque background of tumorous orange eyes, or at least what I think are eyes? Orangeeyes.png Good news this level has a little bit more action than the Blue mountains, bad news it's just filled with matongo and as you can see the little bastards were everywhere. Godzilla gets little mountain pieces and a walking matango enemy like from the actual film. matongo1.png Mothra has none of the walking variety of matango but has breakable floating rocks and Stalactite matongo2.png The music certainly didn’t help, it's like if you turn a monster’s theme from a horror film into 8-bit.Just a repeating pattern that got annoying real quick. I tried to avoid playing through any more of these levels whenever I could. At this point I was coming up to my first boss fight of pathos and the third fight with Gezora but when Gezora came up to the Godzilla piece instead of saying something like "would you like to fight Gezora?" It said "Does he truly hold consequences?" ???Mogera had the same thing but it was completely blank. Gezora?.png After clicking "yes" the game froze for a second and then Gezora's board Sprite completely changed to a new one 000000.Png This lanky aberration had replaced Gezora and its attack patterns were vastly different from the original. NotGezora2.png It would run and jump at a fast pace, constantly swinging its arms around making it hard to get close, also bubbles. Bubbles.png When I was fighting this lanky creature The music was a remix version of Gezora's original song. It sounded a bit more haunting though. Before I was talking about Mogera's replacementI would like to talk about two more levels, the blue jungle and the Blue cave, First the blue jungle. The blue jungle is very much similar to the normal jungle levels in the normal game but just a little creepier. Bluejungle1.png It had two parts, part one had normal enemies from the original jungle level but blue besides the totem poles. Some tanks were corrupted and became longer. Corruptedtank.png Didn't make a difference in how easy they were to destroy though. The gray totem poles would shoot at you and break off their pools and run at you which freak me out the first time it happened to me Grayguy.png The first song is a repeating up and down Melody with some scratchy drums until the end wears just the drums without the melody The second part of the jungle went into a cave and the level went silent. Bluejungle2.png After a minute of walking the music started up again but not the original music but a alternate version of the music from the matango stages It started off with a little bit of white noise and beeping then went to the normal song but if it was played by a fiddle and a little bit more empty, Still annoying though When the music started to play a brand new blue variant of matongo appeared. Bluematongo.png I would like to call them the blue raspberry variant. Instead of acting like the normal matango they act more like flying versions of head crabs from half-life trying to grab on your head or grabbing on the body's heads if you weren't playing as Mothra. TheBodies.png They would basically act like the walking matanga from the honeycomb levels but just a little bit taller. I did encounter them a lot thoughMakes me wonder what killed these Giants. At the end of the level there is a drop and popped up with a mini boss similar to Matango Hive and the Gohten. When it first came up and until you looked like the matango Hive but blue and then the skeleton part came up. Theblight.png No wonder why the Giants died. The Big Blue skeleton thing can create Blue Matango, much like other Matango Hive enemies. In particular, it sometimes will seem to 'fling' them at you, the enemy shooting to the other side of the screen before floating normally.You can also shoot little orange ring things that will do an average amount of damage until you're in the second phase of the fight where a worm comes out of the skeleton and starts biting at you. The_Blight2.png After defeating the boss the game would fade back to the board and then I can continue as normal. Now it's time to talk about the blue caves.The blue caves are similar to the second part of the blue jungle besides the enemies and the background blue_caves.png The enemy variety is consistent with a bull-like enemy that would push you to the left, a rock purple crab that would walk a little bit and throw up rocks at you. blue_caves_enemies1.png The only enemy that would appear when you were playing as a mothra are these bat like things that would just fly at you blue_caves_enemies2.png Throughout the level there were cave paintings with a language that I couldn't identify. There are a total of five different ones depicting multiple events. Export202607121141427222 Export202607121141596976 Recognize some things from these like the matango and the Blue Giants other than those I couldn't recognize anything. The music is somewhat like the music in the blue caves but with a different tone. It felt a little bit more lonely than anything else. At the end of the cave there was a mini boss one of the Blue Giants Giant.png not really mini are they? Their fights consist of punches kicked and rock throwing. The boss took a little long time to actually beat but when I beat the Giant they fell to the ground dead. Welp we got through two more level types, now it's time to fight Mogera's replacement Mogera's replacement was a flying machine with a slight resemblance to a Pascagoula alien. Not_Mogera1.PNG It was a bit like fighting Mothra, only it moved with a lot more grace. It attacked by spinning its front tentacle like a corkscrew, and it still had a beam. Not_Mogera2.PNG The music was a little bit more mechanical like, but more specifically the drums were like that.It sounded really cool though. Now it's time for the three icons I have no idea about. The first one I went to was the blue thing I don't know what to call it. The level was completely broken. It looks like a mashup version of the city levels in the original game. 77656C636F6D656261636B.png The first thing I saw that wasn't the level or Godzilla was a fish thing, there were at least 14 of them but luckily for me they weren't going to do any damage. The second enemy was a glitches circle of sprites from the earlier levels and those did damage but when you hit them the game would lag and all the sprites would glitch out 6E6F626F6479.png One enemy only appeared once and it was a purple warm thing that transformed into a bunch of health items 6163696466696C6C6564696E7369646573.png At the end of the level was a blue worm neck guy 73686F636B.png It would spit bomb things that would stick to you until exploding, they would fly in like circular motions, it was really weird to describe. 32303131.png it would also glitch out and change color every time you hit it but I don't think you could do any damage to it, think you had the hit the glitchy spinny things to actually do anything to it. 446563656D6265723931393838.png The music in the level was a glitchy slow down version of the Jupiter theme. After that I moved to fight titanosaurus but it went to a black screen, so after whatever that was I went to the red thing directly below Bitreeollante. Entering the level sent me to what I assume is a red coral reef Betteroffdead.png Throughout the level there were these red jellyfish things that would fly up to the top of the screen and take one hit to defeat. There are at least 30 of them. Bloodjelly.png The other enemy in the level came from these plant flower things that would open up and a floating fire breathing head would come out and attack you Hothead.png The final enemy came up only twice, which was a bigger version of the jellyfish. Instead of going up it would go sideways. Bigjelly.png They would actually never attack directly; they would only block your way when you're jumping or flying. The music was very repetitive and weirdI have no idea how to describe it besides that Anyways at the end of the level there is one last of those plant things that would normally open up to bring that one of the flying head thingsBut this one opened up and everything went dark Lessthanempty.png After a few seconds a skeleton appearedThe Skeleton of titanosaurus Lessthanlifeless.png The fight went The same way as the original titanosaurus site was one difference is that the beam attack with spawn the small jellyfish MrBean.png I defeated titanosaurus but instead of going down the blue parts on his body turn red and these bones turned gray, after that it just went back to the board like nothing happened. Now it's time for the weird purple gray thingThe local was a bit like the blue mountain levels but they were no enemies at all, not even oneIt has these weird rock formations in the background. One Was a tentacle thing one book like a meteor and the other one looks like the icon of the levelAlso in the background were clouds that were raining throughout my walk. Thegraymountains.png The music was Blue mountains level but a bit more sadder and echoey. For some reason it felt nostalgic for some reason. It kind of reminds me of going outside in the pouring rain after a bad day. Speaking about "bad day"There was no one left to fight now but Biollante, so I eagerly started the battle. And I was surprised to see that Biollante was in her rose form. She was immobile and used tentacles to keep me away from the main body, which took the most damage. Roseform.png As expected she turned into her final form and it actually looked really good for being 8-bit, really fits in with the other monsters Crocodileform.png Her attacks were similar to the one in her rose form but a little bigger and stronger.There were only two new attacks a plant spike and an acid spit Plantspake.png acidspit.png In her first phase her music was hedora,s theme but without the drums were in her second phase it was hedora,this time it's drums but slowed down, made the fight feel a little bit more creepier than any other fight but it was still kind of easy though, it only took me two rounds. But when Biollante was gone, the music had gone completely silent and a completely new icon replaced the board icon. Export202607121143239453 1.Png It resembles some sort of red tribal mask and when I first saw it a wave of something came over me, be it dread or morbid curiosity I was excited to find what it was. When I first entered the level I was hit with the hard contrast between this level and all the other levels in pathos It was a hellish looking level with """mountains"""That looked more like trees than anything elseWith fire in the background, All the UI was swapped with one word "RUN". RUN The level was reminding me a whole lot like the rain level but there was no music, at least for an hour until... A small drum beatA small drum beat that sounded like a heartbeat. By this point I was getting a little weird out and started to ask the question What am I exactly supposed to be running from though? Before I got my answer I heard something falling behind me and after I went to look at whatever fell I looked back at the game Godzilla was dying.. Well I'm not about to play this game without Godzilla it would become a moth pinball machine , so I restart the game and went to the password screen MrPassword.png I've never mentioned it to anybody that I talk about this game with but the password music was the creepiest out of place thing in a game ever.If you ever played the game you know what I mean. Maybe they made it creepy on purpose so kids didn't cheat? At this point I was pretty annoyed because I thought I had to fight each and every single monster and level but when I entered the password it sent me where I was last time before I Entered the level. So I guess I don't have to do all of that so I take this luck and actually pay attention to the game So I re-enter the level and it was the same thing as before, walking around in the burning landscape with nothing in sight for about an hour Until I heard noise that sounded like humanoid rising tone and a shadow go pass the fire in the background Shadowthing.png After this happened Godzilla's speed increased by two and after a minute of running.and this Redthing appeared from the left of the screen Redthing.png I haven't seen every Godzilla movie but I'm sure this skinless human scorpion thing hasn't been in one like any of the other things in this game. Regardless I thought it was a good change of pace from the rest of the game The thing nearly got me multiple times but from some dumb luck or me not wanting to go back to the password screen again I made it out.
