🏳️‍⚧️ Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈

Considering im from Croatia. I wanna explain how LGBTQ+ rights in Croatia feels right now in this home country where i live to let everyone know what im going through. Being gay/trans person is not safe here whatsoever since my country is full of far-right fascists nationalist christian extremists and nazi sympathizers everywhere which is even harder for me to even express my self or be my self who i am. Despite the LGBTQ+ rights in Croatia becoming progressive compared to central and eastern Europe with protection against discrimination being introduced, legal recognition for gay couples including gay couple being allowed to adopt a child and areas in the country being safe place for queer folks.

Unfortunately gay marriage is fully banned in 2013 because of the referendum by constitutional amendments and nonbinary is not recognized as well. Which means nonbinary people aren't protected whatsoever on anti-discrimination act which is just scary, not to mention in some areas there are cultural and societal attitudes that remain deeply conservative in many areas

Christanity, fascism and nationalism has completely infected this whole country and i geniuenly hope it dies for good maybe i will one day be free one day and all the hate will die down. Because im tired of staying silent like this and my government is not doing anything about it.

I will keep fighting for Queer Croats like me and i will never stay
