recently i remembered a very old story i had started making when i was much younger... the basis was that there were 'dragon people' who were seemingly human but also had dragon forms, and some kind of "good guy"/"bad guy" conflict between the dragons. i also vaguely remember a couple of characters, a girl and a mentor figure for her.
right now i'm trying to get all the lore straightened out, because when i was a kid i didn't think too hard about the logistics of Dragon People, i was just excited about the idea of people who turned into dragons! which is still very fun for me now, but i like my things to have a little more concrete story and lore to them. the working idea as of now is that there were ancient dragons who wanted to walk among non-dragon people and communicate with them easier, so they used some form of magic to make human/humanoid forms for themselves. over time it became a natural thing that all of them could innately do, and it kind of follows tiefling rules now because of how dispersed the original bloodlines are, where every so often in a generation there is someone who is one of the dragon people (i don't have a good name for them yet, but they are a distinctly different Thing to regular humans). this might all change or it might not, i don't really know! but it's been fun to play with so far, and i'm hoping to draw some of the characters soon :3
some things i want to do with this are figure out types of dragons (dragons, wyverns, etc etc) and make some more characters, i already know a couple that i'm going to add to this world as an au of sorts. i want to try my hand at making a map as well, they're so hard for me though i can never make one that i really love 😭
