The reference photo for this piece was taken by 17-year-old me in 2012. I used to take my parents' car down a dirt road and take pictures of random stuff. Mostly to get away from people for a while. I've been slowly painting pictures I took as a teenager to kind of remind myself that I've always been a creative person and I always have had this inner artist, even when that has felt difficult to access.
