"As Sakura became better and more skilled with magic, she felt more confident in making more complex spells. And no other spell felt has difficult for her as a mermaid spell. She was inspired by her childhood friend Cynthia Chuseio and she thought doing a temporary one should be fine for the most part.
As Sakura got close to the shore of the beach, she began the spell. At first, there wasn't really a change. The spell she got said that she should be instantly a mermaid for a few hours. But as she touched the water, she then began to change. As her new mertail formed, she came to the realization that she did the spell wrong. Now Sakura was stuck with a mermaid form, one that would change her as soon as she was dried off and soaked with water. She's glad she didn't test the spell on anyone else, but now has to live with this self-inflicted curse"

This was a recreation that was voted for in the beginning of 2024. This was also off of the high I got from doing so many remakes back in 2023. The Merchange is one that a lot of people still love but I always felt like I could do better conveying the original idea, and this was a great opportunity to try to do better in a number of elements.
One of the things I wanted to do is do a better job with the water on her, making it look actually like she's soaked. I wanted to also make the magic transformation more uniformed and match it with "Double-Tuna Dare".
