as i'm sure a lot of people have been feeling the same for the past 4-5 years, but i've been dying for a return to forums, or even just actual websites to browse. the kind of website formats that i grew up around back in the mid 2000s rather than the same ol' timeline and dashboard that has become such a staple of social media. i've grown very wary of the reactionary nature that has become so common place with people but it's not something that started with our generation. it's something that i have also noticed in my older family members who still think 24-hour TV news cycles are a trustworthy and helpful source somehow.
in removing television from my life i've come to realize i've just replaced it with something honestly kinda worse when it comes to social media. i get so upset to the point where i constantly need to distance myself away from it. discord isn't all that much more helpful unfortunately but it's better than nothing.
i talked about this a little bit in my last journal post but i really really do miss websites like this. i have fond memories of the old sheezyart so i'm glad that it's come back in honestly a better shape than i remember it being.
i noticed a lot of people posting soft-and-fluffy-feeling art full of gentle colors and cool looking furry characters without the usually expected sexual connotations that come with them and for the first time in forever i thought to myself "oh, this is home."
i'm sure the vibe will change once people are allowed to freely join in the next year or so but i hope it stays relatively the same. hell, i'll welcome even the chaos that was deviantart before the developers stopped caring.
