lovely birds, lovely bugs
in the interest of self-advertisement, here's my artfight profile (although i'll also fill out and post the team card when it's revealed!)
personally, i'm hoping for fossils vs crystals, city lights vs forest nights, or perhaps heart vs soul (which i think could be done as a contrast of body vs spirit, corporeal vs incorporeal)... but i feel like unicorns vs dragons or destruction vs creation are also somewhat likely! very curious to see which it is.......
felt like it was time for a change, i've been getting kind of tired of the pink and yellow haha
so now i'm blue and gold! like some kind of digital parrot .... i'll probably keep adjusting this one for a while. particularly the colours; at any moment i am So Conflicted over whether to go for dark text over light or light over dark. i think dark over light helps readability (i know it does for me), but i also know that isn't universal ....... hmm
a screenshot of the old theme:
...i guess i should also draw a blue and gold pagedoll?
very exciting, because this is the first time in my life i've ever done a full month of prompts for... anything! i really wasn't expecting to do more than a week! probably won't repeat it next year, but i think this was very helpful for my art
this month, i focused on a lot of things, but mostly composition; i tried to do a simple thumbnail before almost every piece, which definitely helped.. i also let myself use perspective assistant tools more often! the fact that i didn't have to worry about proportions as much really helped, usually for non-rw art i'm too busy with staying anatomically correct to make the piece actually interesting haha
not sure yet where i'll go from here! possibly less rain world fanart (my fallen london interest is still very strong. also i have some original setting thoughts to illustrate), but the watcher dlc is giving me a lot of new ideas....
anyway in addition to my gallery here, i also posted every piece on tumblr! here's a visual summary:
...should i be using journals here more? posting thoughts about my art/progress? maybe even cross-posting some text-only stuff from tumblr? hm...
given i've been setting up stuff here today, i should make an introduction like i'm seeing others do
hi! i'm chipper crow, a primarily-digital artist who uses krita, with a fairly cartoony style. i adore birds and bugs, and my art more or less reflects that! as of writing this, the fandoms i've been making the most fanart for are Fallen London and Rain World (which will probably become especially clear as i upload more of my art)
might as well also include some fun facts here:
- in terms of fashion/subculture in my personal life, i'm goth... or goth-aspiring... the intentions are there
- i use warm colours a lot in art, but my favourite colour is blue!
- recently i've been listening to a lot of Placebo and Poets of the Fall
- i have pet rats, very cute critters
- i think parasitic wasps are cool, especially cuckoo wasps
found this site through grox's tumblr post about it... saw that at the right time actually, i was almost starting to consider deviantart again. i like this place so far, the customisation options are cool! nice to be here
