A large nihilgenesis unit infiltrates a nymtrott hive, causing chaos.
I've gotten a lot of questions about it over the years from many different people, so here's what your average nihilgenesis vs nymtrott scenario looks like. Nymtrotts, being accumulations of rouge medical nanobots, aren't really alive in the usual sense, so they can't be stung to be assimilated. Because of this, the nihilgenesis treats them as if they're no different from the terrain around them, and tries to collect them to directly convert into nihilgenerative dust.
Nymtrotts, despite acting very robotic and typically focusing on nothing but creating more of themselves, will show a fear-like response when in the presence of nihilgenesis that they don't show under any other circumstance- including situations where they, or the hive may be harmed. This causes researchers a great amount of trouble, as it raises concerning questions about the true nature of how nymtrotts and their hives behave, and much like the nihilgenesis, questions as to where the lines between 'animate' and 'inanimate' really lie.
