Princess Dianna Cordula Mondtanz is the pride and joy of her royal family and her kingdom of Fernweh. Although she is a sickly person, often contract illnesses and fevers, Dianna is very passionate about the things she loves in life, primarily the arts. She will not let anything stop her from enjoying her life.

After an incident at age thirteen causes her to believe she is destined to die alone, Dianna lives with a deep sorrow for the next ten years, until a new suitor comes to her at the age of twenty three and asks for her hand in marriage. The condition being she must leave behind everything and everyone she loves.

With a new sorrow in her heart, Dianna is distant to Prince Astro until an act of true kindness shows her that he could very well be her destined lover all along. As her heart begins to soften toward him, the two of them fumble back and forth in their new lives together, facing many hardships and dangers along the way.
