↖ the girl!

I hadn't heard they might be giants' "the spine surfs alone" EP on release, but the sound of it and the main album are kinda wrapped up in this nostalgia-by-association to me, because of the connection with "homestar runner", which is where I'd first properly encountered their music.

it turned 20 last year! one track in particular got me in the mood to draw the kind of self-indulgent character design I totally would've wanted to make in 2004, if I'd had the skill back then.
