A while ago, I wrote a journal post here about my wizard project and how I wanted to make it into a visual novel. Honestly, I don't think I should do that anymore. The ideas I've had since then have changed the project for the better. I feel like I have a better story now and I don't think VNs are the right medium for it anymore. I've been considering a different way of telling it.
The project is about Breeze, a wizard in-training with a hunger for knowledge and too much curiosity for her own good. She is the apprentice of a traveling wizard who goes around investigating anomalies and helping others with their magical problems. I had a bunch of ideas for stories involving Breeze encountering different magical things during her travels but I wanted to focus on telling one story. I couldn't decide which story I should tell first and ended up getting nothing done.
That's when I had an idea.
What if I told the story through a series of journal entries from Breeze's perspective? While cataloging the different magical things she encounters, she discovers something strange that piques her curiosity and begins to investigate it (she might not like everything she learns though).
Basically, all of the ideas I had for different stories were making it feel like the project was a fantasy SCP type of thing. Now, I'm considering leaning into that a little. I could tell all of my little stories in a way that makes them part of a bigger story. Of course I would also include drawings in it. It would feel weird to me if I didn't. The only thing making me hesitant to go with this idea is I don't know how to share it. I'll do some research and see if it's something I can do.
Anyway, that's what I'm considering. I really should go for it. It could be fun.
Earlier today, I made a post on bluesky asking people to send me groups of 3 emojis so I can draw characters based on them. I just wanted to practice designing characters.
I was only going to do it on bluesky but why not do it here too? If anyone here wants to send me 3 emojis (preferably with an animal emoji in the group), you're welcome to do so. Feel free to leave your emojis here or on the original post. Thank you!

I have no reason to post this but I will anyway.
I've been wanting to redesign my sona for a while. I'm not planning anything drastic. I just want to make a few little changes. This sona was designed by a friend of mine. I want to keep using it. I will most likely just change the outfit and some details.
I've also been thinking about making another sona for myself. One that is fully my design. One that's more of a creature. Still a dragon. Just more...dragon. For the designs of both sonas, I want to have the mindset of "if I was a streamer, what sort of gimmick or aesthetic would I want to use in my streams?". I think if I keep that in mind, I can come up with something unique and fitting for me. I'm going to take my time with this but I hope I can come up with something not long from now.
I'll stop there. I might write more posts about my progress with the new sona designs later. I might not. We'll see.
(By the way, I'm not planning to start streaming. I have thought about it but I don't think I'd enjoy being a streamer.)
Sometimes, I get the feeling that I should start taking commissions. The idea scares me a little since I have no idea what I'd be doing and while my artistic skills have definitely improved, I don't know if it's at a point where I could ask for money. Plus I've heard a few too many horror stories about awful commissioners. There are definitely people I can get advice from if I ever decided to take commissions though. That would help so much.
I don't want to belittle myself or talk myself out of it. This could be one of those things where the only thing stopping me is myself. I'll think about doing it. I'll seriously consider it.
I'll stop there. Maybe I'll talk with some friends about it later. Bye.
I think it's safe to say I'm done drawing for Artfight 2025. I didn't draw as much as I originally wanted but I had fun and I made some people happy. That's what it's all about, right? I'd like to go draw my own OCs now. Hopefully, I'll have some new art soon.
A while ago, I said I wanted to learn how to make visual novels. Now that I'm done with artfight, maybe I should start doing that. I think it could be a fun way to tell the story of my wizard project. I might end up writing some journal posts about my progress through that. I don't know if anyone here has experience with making or playing VNs but if you have any tips or recommendations, feel free to tell me. They'd be greatly appreciated.
(Please don't recommend dating sims. Sorry but I'm not interested in those. The story I want to make is a mystery story. So, recommendations for VNs with mysteries would be preferred. Those exist, right?)
Anyway, I'm gonna try to draw some OC art. Bye!
