i hate the light, i speed at night!
One thing I remember being sort of obsessed with back in 2012-2013 on deviantART, was when people would make original species. Back then it wasn't really considered an adopt market like it is today, and most species were open or just created to be part of worldbuilding projects. So I remember a lot of people would make detailed ref sheets for their species, pretty much every artist I followed had one, and there was something so compelling to me about them.
I never got around to making one myself, mainly because I can't make up my mind as to how a species should look. I always change details here and there, and it's never consistent lol
plus, I would always end up writing more about them than actually drawing.
but anyway, I was wondering... does anybody have detailed refs for their species like that? I would love to see them and read about them! Even if I don't have an interest in creating OCs based on the species, I like to learn about them and the world they live in.
(i guess this is a little vent journal, idk....)
i know it's no use complaining about this stuff, but sometimes it's hard to stay motivated when the art i post online gets so little attention. and of course, i will keep making art and sharing no matter what, but at the same time it's disheartening when something i've poured hours into gets overlooked.
and this is not me complaining about sheezy itself, in fact this place is where my art gets the most attention compared to places like tumblr or twitter, and that's saying something considering this site still has a relatively small userbase.
anyway, i think that every artist goes through something like this at some point. i will just keep posting stuff and hope that one day it will be recognized... and also i have to thank everyone who's ever favorited or commented on my art here, you guys rock!
