Despite the whole "vent art" vibe that this piece carries, it was actually a lot of fun that I haven't had in doing a piece for a while and I'm super satisfied with how it came out. I'm still quite fond of the original and I'm also happy I got this done before this year wrapped up.

It's actually something a juxtapose that both 2014 and 2024 have served as years of upheaval and change for me, just in different ways and with different results. 2014 was a year where my personal life really took a turn for the worst and - without airing too much dirty laundry - was when a change that I shall never be OK with really hung over me for the next eight years. It was also when I had a mental breakdown and was diagnosed as schizophrenic.

Meanwhile, 2024 - while still 'scary' in a way - is when I finally moved into my own apartment! While my financial situation was pretty hairy for a lot of this year, I still wouldn't change this for the world. I've wanted my own space for so long and I couldn't be happier that I finally have it.

So, I don't know: I guess remaking this piece is just me finally 'closing the book' on a chapter in my life that I'd rather put behind me. I'm just hoping I continue to enjoy good times. I certainly feel like I've earned them. c:
