How many usernames have you had? (You don't have to share them!)
For art, 5. If we count all websites, I can recall 12.
What does your current username mean?
It's a pun. Dilophosaurus + Laugh. I love dinosaurs and goofy jokes.
What is the first program you used to make digital art?
Mario Paint! Haha. Real answer is Microsoft Paint. Then I moved to an old version of Adobe Illustrator (maybe CS3 or CS4) while I had a free trial. After that, I used a software called Inkscape. Then I finally settled on Paint Tool SAI. All of this happened before the age of 13!
In 2020, I started using Clip Studio Paint, and I intend to use it for as long as possible.
Where did you first start posting your art?
deviantART, in 2010.
What is the first piece of media you drew fanart for?
Definitely Pokémon. I used to draw a lot of it as a kid. Unfortunately I don't possess any of my old art.
Who was your first self-insert/persona/fursona? What did they mean to you?
As a young kid, I had a big blue dragon character with ice breath that I drew and would pretend to be. I would fantasize scenarios with other dragon OCs when going to bed. Sadly I don't have any of the art anymore.
It meant a lot to me at the time because it was a mode of escape and allowed me to be creative.
Who is your current self-insert/persona/fursona? How are they different to your first?
That would be Polo, who is also a dragon. He's black and feathery, and has lightning breath.
I suppose they are similar because both are myself!
I went through a few other sonas online, all of which were cats. Dragons were made fun of a lot back in the day so I hesitated to make one. I don't remember when I made Polo, but I've used him for a long time now and I can't envision a more truer representation for myself. He means as much to me as that blue dragon did.
What/who inspired you to be an artist?
Nothing did. I always drew and haven't stopped. I'll stop when I'm dead.
What tools are integral to your current workflow? (e.g. Programs, brushes, references.)
My drawing tablet, of course. It's a Wacom Intuos PTH-451. The less-obvious reason it's integral is the buttons! If I didn't have those mapped to shortcuts it would slow my work down sooooo much.
I keep interacting with art on the homepage!! If I follow you and don't interact much my apologies, genuine skill issue on my end lol
Art Fight has begun! I'm on Team Fossils! 🦴 💪
