something about string and cutouts feels so much more interactive, to me. that's my favorite sort of art: the kind that feels like it's inviting you to play with it. obviously that isn't so ideal if you want to preserve the art, but what use is art if you can't enjoy it in a tactile way? (i guess that's what lamination would help with, if i wanted to really preserve this, but i kind of enjoy the fleeting, temporary feeling. it complements well with the playful, unserious atmosphere!)
