i struggled a lot with getting the shading to behave on this, so i had to leave it at home while i vacationed for a few weeks. when i got back i think i lost some of the initial 'spark' i had for the piece, but at the very least, most of the mood-building had already been done and all i had to manage was the final render and post-processing.

the background sky is taken from a photo i took ages ago. kind of a novel way to do a skybox... lmao
