Original Creator: i-like-eyes on tumblr
I first saw like one or two people do this, then I went to the tag and read every single one I could find, and now here I am! I know it's not like the best time to do this when I have absolutely nothing in my gallery right now but in my defense I made this account pretty recently plus I'm still contemplating whether or not I should keep this separate from my other art accounts or not and it's artfight. (I don't know why I'm even saying all this no one's accusing me of anything (>x> ;) ) Also I kinda wanted to do this now, like early on in my art journey(?), and then once again, maybe a few years into the future and see how much I've changes you know? Also I'm so sorry so many of my answers are so long;
RULES:
Answer each question accurately and honestly. Skip anything you don't know.
Art programs you have but don't use?
A lot... I just binge downloaded every free art app I could find. Out of the ones I downloaded the ones I don't use/use very little are Linearity, Adobe Fresco, Flipaclip, and Sketchbook. I really should get to deleting them but whenever I do I'm like "Okay but what if I need them?" ○| ̄|_
Is it easier to draw someone facing left, right, or forward?
Forward for me. I struggle with perspective of every kind (👍ᐛ )👍
What ideas come from when you were little?
Dunno if this counts but my mind oc's? I've got far too many and a lot of them were first made when I was really young. I've never actually drawn them and I probably never will because it feels like I'll "ruin" them if I do...
Favorite character or subject that's a bitch to draw?
ARMS. I just... They're unnecessarily difficult for me (′д`σ)σ Oh and also this guy (external link). Drawing his head was just... (」°ロ°)」
Estimate of how much of your art you post online VS. the art you keep for yourself?
Technically I only started posting art online in general fairly recently, but even then I'd say very little. Besides like my artfight attacks I don't really post much else. I also feel like most of the things I draw in general aren't up to my standards or I find them embarrassing so I don't post them; So I'd say like 20-25% of my art I actually post,, I'd like to start posting a bit more though.
Anything that might inspire you subconsciously? (e.g. This horse wasn't meant to look like The Last Unicorn but I see it.)
From what I've seen I think, when drawing someone else's character or an existing one from a show or something I always tend to subconsciously try and imitate the art style the character is drawn in.
A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate?
Oil, Acrylic, Watercolors, anything with paint essentially. I've tried painting before but it's not really my thing, although I really love looking at other people's works.
What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in?
Urgh... A lot of things. This is technically more writing focused but I've had a book series in the works for a long while but I just can't get back into it (;´д`)ゞ
Favorite piece of clothing to draw?
Turtlenecks! I find them easy to draw and style.
Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what?
Music mostly, I've tried watching YouTube videos but even if it's something I'm not interested I always feel like I have to pay attention to it and either stop drawing to pay full attention to it or constantly rewind to see what I missed.
Easiest part of body to draw?
Heads and torsos! Mostly because when I was younger I rarely ever drew full bodies, so now I struggle with things like arms and legs, but I am working on it!
A creator who you admire but whose work isn't your thing?
Maybe like Hanacue or something? I watch her videos and her art is always gorgeous but I guess it's mainly because the art she makes, and the kind of art I want to make are pretty different. (She's super cool though, check her out ( •̀ ω •́ )y )
Any favorite motifs?
Color related things! Sort of like when your teacher asks you "What does the blue curtain in this scene MEAN" hehe (On that note I kind of just remembered a webcomic along the lines of this called Copper Eyes which I think is pretty cool)
Where do you draw? (Don't drop your IP address, this just means do you doodle at a park or something?)
On whatever chair I can get comfortable on or my bed
Something you are good at but don't really have fun doing?
Drawing not super simplified/not really stylized art? I'll be honest I'm not really sure how to explain it but I love stylized or super cartoony art, but the art I make I feel like tends to be super... generic? or just not what I want it to be I guess :p
Do you eat/drink when drawing? If so, what?
Not really, maybe like a smoothie if it's lunch/breakfast time but mostly I just sit in one spot and rot away for several hours.
Favorite inanimate objects to draw? (e.g. Food, nature.)
Do stars count? I love drawing stars and funky shapes =3
Something everyone else finds hard to draw but you enjoy?
Guhhh maybe like torsos? I can't really think of something that everyone else finds hard to draw that I don't also find hard to draw (´。_。`)
Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways?
Semi-realistic? Oh and BezzyBuddy's art! I think they're on both Instagram and Tiktok but I think that their art is super cool!!
What physical exercises do you do before drawing, if any?
I don't really do any but I probably should...
Do you use different layer modes?
Constantly. I'm pretty sure every piece of art I've ever made has used one in them at least once.
Do your references include stock images?
I don't think so. Nearly all of my references come from Pinterest or myself occasionally. Maybe I should start using them though, I've kinda been struggling to find good references on Pinterest nowadays
Something your art has been compared to that you were NOT inspired by?
Nothing yet :V Or actually I just remembered this but when I was younger I was drawing a random character and my sibling asked if it was a character from an anime we watched together and I was just like "uhhhh yeah sure" (It was not that character)
What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended?
I guess the same as the above story?
Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with?
Also no, I think I should start though, maybe it'll help me :>
Any art events you have participated in the past? (e.g. Zines.)
Nope, this artfight is my first art event ever (❁´◡`❁)
Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically?
Oog I'm not really sure...
What piece of yours do you think is underrated?
Not a piece posted here but on my Tumblr I posted about an animated thumbnail I made for one of my artfight oc's that I was pretty proud of. Didn't get as much attention as I had hoped though ヽ(;▽;)ノ
