She contains herself within a thorny bubble that protects her and repels the foul air of the outside. To maintain this bubble, she needs memories of a first love, which she extracts from humans and gives to her blue roses without a second thought. The only way to safely regain the original memories back is to pluck her roses, forcing immense pain on the Witch as she recalls that those memories were never truly hers.

Based off of an old character of mine who was named "Beloved" and functioned in a similar way~ A shy, beautiful creature that hides away from the outside world, afraid of getting hurt. But she hurts herself and others by isolating herself, her outer thorns, and tenancy to steal loving memories away from them. A victim overall.

I think the inner part is the Witch's true form, a little ghostly thing. Without the thorn bubble, she dies. The roses are my favorite part, taken from a photo of a makeup box my sister had and edited in Photoshop/GIMP :)
