After getting kidnapped and brought to Ace Chemicals, Harley got distracted by the chemicals, as they were the very thing that made the Joker who he was, but when she was looking at them, she leaned too far over the railing and fell into the chemicals, and as Joker went to help her, he got exposed to the chemicals as well, and when they both got down, the two of them looked different, and Harley started uncontrollably laughing while having a crisis. When she recovered, Joker took her in as his sidekick, when she would be known as "Harley Quinn"
