Completely forgot abt this site tbh
Uhh expect lots of old stuff from my Weasyl to be ported here ig
Also haha funni Deling pfp
Yep, I’m pretty tired of how my life’s going right now. You can read more about it on my Toyhouse and Weasyl profiles because frankly I don’t wanna go over it for the third time because it makes me feel worse by the minute.
I’ll probably be gone until July because I haven’t had any time to emotionally recover from this.
Well gee, it seems that another one of these memes pop up every day! Nevertheless, I do enjoy these because I really like Q&As and it gets my art more attention!
RULES:
Answer each question in as much detail as you like. Skip anything you don't know or would prefer not to answer.
How many usernames have you had? (You don't have to share them!)
Four… I think? I go by Gocco on Toyhouse, GoccoDraws here, Furaffinity, and Weasyl, and GoccoButEvil on CharacterHub. Also I changed my Discord username to Gotgo for a brief period of time
What does your current username mean?
It’s just a goofy nickname some people call me in person
What is the first program you used to make digital art?
Either MS paint or my Nintendo 2ds XL. I still have some of those 2ds XL drawings to this day
Where did you first start posting your art?
Ig 2020 when I featured one of my truesonas in a YouTube video
What is the first piece of media you drew fanart for?
Five Nights at Freddy’s, is this where you wanna be?
Who was your first self-insert/persona/fursona? What did they mean to you?
Just a brown-haired kitsune humanoid named Gocco! I’ve been using him since kindergarten and ig he reflects the current phase of my life I’m going through
Who is your current self-insert/persona/fursona? How are they different to your first?
See the last question…
What phases/styles has your art gone through? (e.g. Did you have an anime era, a cartoon style, a watercolour phase?)
Oh boy, this’ll be a long one!
PRE-ANTHRO ERA
2016-2017: Shitty Cyanide and Happiness knockoff style
2017-2018: Shitty Cyanide and Happiness knockoff style BUT WITH HAIR
2019-2021: Cyanide and Happiness knockoff style BUT WITH HAIR but not shitty anymore and slightly more “polished” with the word polished in huge quotation marks
ANTHRO ERA
2021-Late 2021: Boxy, geometric chibi style that actually was pretty neat looking back at it!
Late 2021-Mid 2022: Very strange “realistic” style that worked at the time, but was pretty ugly looking back at it. Still had its nostalgic charms though because that’s when I started making all of my secondary fursonas!
Mid 2022-Late 2023: Pug-fugly geometric-esque style where the eyes were always too big and the snouts were always too small (also the proportions never looked right either). If I absolutely had to give it credit, I’d give it credit for paving the road for the style I use right now with the angular shapes and characters I really like coming from that era.
Late 2023-Now: Teh style I use now. Basically the latter style but with all of the kinks ironed out
What/who do you think has influenced your art style the most?
While this person’s content isn’t exactly my cup of tea, UnknownSpy certainly inspired a lot of my character designs and art style choices back in the day!
What/who inspired you to be an artist?
I don’t exactly remember what sparked my pre-anthro era art, but for the spark that motivated me to draw anthros was FNAF Deviantart
What tools are integral to your current workflow? (e.g. Programs, brushes, references.)
I said this in my last Q&A, but my Science class is most definitely the saving grace for when I forget to do my warm-ups (once again, my science teacher gives us a lot of free time for some reason)
What improvements have you made recently?
About a month ago I was messing with different brushes on Procreate and found one I liked a lot more than my old one. It also gives off that nice pixelated look that I enjoy!
What steps would you like to take in the future?
3d modeling maybe?
Digital art OR traditional art?
It’s a tough choice, but I’d say digital! Although I do a lot of sketches over on my Weasyl account that I don’t post here because of the gosh darn upload limit they have here
Original concepts/characters OR fanart/canon characters?
I get that fanart is almost always the choice to go view-wise, but I prefer original concepts
Original fiction OR fanfiction?
I don’t write that often but I’d go with original fiction
Sketch OR lineart?
I like them equally!
Coloring OR shading?
Definitely coloring because I actually never shaded my art until a couple months ago and I’m still getting the hang of it
Handwritten signature OR text signature?
I don’t have my own signature so I just do text
Shrink canvas OR add a filter before posting?
Shrinking…
Messy art OR clean art?
I prefer clean art
Bright colors OR muted colors?
I like brightly-colored characters significantly more but I would be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy the occasional pastel character
Warm colors OR cold colors?
I’ve always had a harder time working with warm colors so I’d say cold!
Graphics tablet with screen OR no screen?
I draw on a tablet with a screen and I have no experience with the latter
Humans OR nonhumans?
I’m a furry artist, what do you think?
Fur OR scales?
Fur. Once again, I have no experience with scales because I just don’t have any characters like that
Edgy characters OR wholesome characters?
Tbh I never liked edgy characters, WHOLESOME FTW! (no offense)
High-poly models OR low-poly models?
Low poly for sure! Why else would my style have that pixelated 3ds feel to it?
Music OR podcasts while drawing?
Neither. I prefer working in silence
Alright! Doing this thing because I’m seeing everyone else do it and I’m really bored rn!
Art programs you have but don't use
None really! I just stick to either Procreate or a good old pen and paper!
Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even)
Totally right!
What ideas come from when you were little
The idea of having a self-insert OC for all of my universes
Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw
I’d say most of my fursonas are pretty easy to draw but I always have a hard time getting all of the details on Smudge right https://toyhou.se/23614409.smudge
Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself
Oh geez… I have an entire drawer in my room full of random shit I never plan on posting either because it’s outdated, vent art that’s a little too extreme imo, art simply used to test new methods, or projects I simply don’t intend on releasing to the public
Anything that might inspire you subconsciously (e.g. this horse wasn't supposed to look like the Last Unicorn but I see it)
Really any brightly-colored eye candy OC I see I’ll end up accidentally taking inspiration off really
A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate
Pottery!
What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in
I had an idea for a Portal 2 AU called “Test Shaft 07” a while ago that I ended up making multiple characters for on Toyhouse, but I lost confidence in it quickly and privated all of the characters
Favorite piece of clothing to draw
Crop tops and hoodies!
Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what
No, not really… sometimes I do take breaks during the art process and watch videos about claw machines! (Don’t ask why)
Easiest part of body to draw
I like drawing legs the most because I generally draw them the same way I draw arms, just a little thicker!
A creator who you admire but whose work isn't your thing
I really admire Harry101UK but I’m not quite educated in 3d modeling or animating
Any favorite motifs
I’d say Emo, Pastel, and any robot-related aesthetic (if that even makes sense) are my favorites!
Where do you draw (don't drop your ip address this just means do you doodle at a park or smth)
Either a the work desk I have in my bedroom or in the science room at my school (my science teacher gives us a fuckton of free time probs because he hates his job)
Something you are good at but don't really have fun doing
I’m okay-ish at shading but I never have fun doing it
Do you eat/drink when drawing? if so, what
Normally whatever I’m eating for dinner that day with a nice glass of Ocean Spray Cran-Grape Juice
Rn I also have a huge bag of gummy sharks I impulse-bought off Amazon that I’m stuck with now
Favorite inanimate objects to draw (food, nature, etc.)
Strangely enough stacks of paper
Something everyone else finds hard to draw but you enjoy
Lineart ig?
Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways
That 2000s emo art style that apparently doesn’t have a name!
What physical exercises do you do before drawing, if any
None!
Do you use different layer modes
Yes!
Do your references include stock images
No!
Something your art has been compared to that you were NOT inspired by
Someone said my style looks similar to Bluey ig because of the way I draw mouths?
What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended
I have no idea!
Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with
Remember how I said I draw a lot during my science class at school? That’s where I do almost all of my warm ups!
Any art events you have participated in the past (like zines)
I participated in Artfight 2022 and 2023, although I quit after the donation fraud allegations shortly after
Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically
I really like Animal Crossing but it surprisingly doesn’t inspire me a lot
What piece of yours do you think is underrated
Idk
