HAIIII quickly using this journal to advertise my persona, barnmates, since I finally ended up getting some stuff on there!!
https://sheezy.art/guromaws/persona/barnmates
If you wanna see the non-furry and non-fanart stuff I do, BOOM it'll go there. Will definitely be used a lot less than my main since I mostly do furry/ fanart stuff LOL but I like the idea of having a persona to post any painting practices I do or sketches of my pets and shit. Feels organized, like how I post fanart to my main Tumblr blog then post OC art to a sideblog, idk my brain just likes it like this.
Technically there is 1 fanart thing on there rn but it's cuz I didn't want it going to main rn LOL. It's a shitpost/ meme redraw I got the idea for bc my brother wouldn't shut up abt the original meme and it came out fucking abhorrent. /very positive
I'll do journals like this for each persona I start using, tho no promises on when that'll be. Just gotta get the impulse for it I guess.
Hiiii if you remember the "Funky Cats" I shared back on Monday I fiiinally got the speedpaint for that up.
I rlly did wanna get it out on Friday but by god am I the king of pushing shit off 'til last minute and the editing for this ended up being a lottt more involved than anticipated. MFW the consequences of my actions. Ah well.
I don'tttt think I'm gonna post anything today unless I make a quick sketch I like (started one last night I just dunno if I'm gonna finish it or redo it from scratch). Trying to finish up a bigger piece (once again fanart for my hyperfixation but ah well, Cope) and if I do finally get it done I can get that up tomorrow.
Anyways !! LMAO engagement on the video would help even if you don't wanna sit through it all. There are timestamps/ chapters so you can easily hop around in that case. IDK. Someone make sure the next thing I make a speedpaint of is something small so it doesn't end up being 20 minutes long.
Hiiii sorry I'm kinda not posting I am. Hyperfixating HARD on FNF; a lot of my art lately has been traditional sketches. I am still chipping away at owed that I hope to share soon but unfortunately my fixation is making me slower on things not related to it. qwq;; I hate having ADHD lmaooooo.
ANYWAYS I guess one upside of the FNF fixation is me wanting to fuck with Flash again for the first time in like 6 years. My one weird artist trait is that if I am doing fanart I have gotttt to draw it as on-model as possible (most of the time; there are exceptions esp. for live action media/ media going for realism) and unfortunately the faux-flash pens I have in CSP are nottt cutting it. So yippeeeeee if I get anything out of this at least it's learning how to use Flash again. I can already say this confidently tho that CSP will probably stay my main program this version of flash I have is super fickle LAWL & the process of drawing in Flash is verrryy different to how I'm used to drawing in, nearly any other program I've drawn in. The flash brush tool rules tho.
^ Whole reason I made this journal was to share this WIP lolllll. This style is so fun to draw in YAHOOOO.
I've been aware of this site for a bit now but have been seeing more ppl make one recently so I wanna jump in BEHEHE.
https://retrospring.net/@barnmates <- I will not bite I promise I just love giving & receiving anonymous messages.. :3c U can be off anon if you'd like too.
I'm trying to finish a couple things up but I'll come back to it in a couple hours and respond to everyone. :D Yay yippee.
Ok so I just posted the playlist icon for Rook, and I wanna mention something about it since it's not really something anyone would know LOL.
Before I got Rook designed by @/powderseas on TH, I was trying to design him myself and god I was Struggling.
It's probably apparent that Rook is based on Mike Schmidt from the FNaF movie/ Micheal Afton from the games. He's not the same character (as his current design is also based on Hollyleaf Warrior Cats LOL) however I do lean into the inspo a lot sometimes.
Anyways, originally when I was trying to design Rook myself, I was going for a dark grey tabby which I really just did not get down in a way I clicked with (it probably didn't help that I was trying to design him as an anthro, whereas I am a lot more comfortable with taking feral designs and then converting them to anthro). In this scrapped version of Rook, I had black shading on the right side of his face like how I had it in the playlist icon! However, on the old design this shading was going to be a mandatory design element, and not just a stylistic thing to do for a one-off project.
I still do think the shading thing goes hard, hence why I reused the concept for his recent icon, but it definitely wasn't meant to be. I really connect with Rook as he is now infinitely more than I feel I would have had I finished the old design and never gotten someone else to work on a design for me. qwq
For fun, here is Rook's current design (art by powderseas on TH), the icon I just posted, and then what all I did get done of Rook when I was trying to design him myself:
