TV-20C from Magician's Quest on the DS!
This one was a pain, but not for the reason you think.
Due to the obscurity of the title, there seemed to be no high quality references of him online. Even booting up the game it was difficult to make out his details on such a small resolution. So, I checked the models resource to see if anyone had ripped from the game.. only to learn that DS ripping is notoriously difficult.
In summary, DS games didn't have a standard format, so there are no universal modding tools. I did it the hard way and decided to manually decompile the game's files, and I was successful in some ways, but not others.
The sprites for items and models for environment resources were easy to find, but for the classmates themselves they seemed to be stored in some encrypted format that I couldn't figure out how to crack. I tried so so so many tools, and was unable to find anything but the player models.
As a last resort I hopped into the VGR Discord server to see if anyone had attempted to rip models from this game. Only one person had ever mentioned it three years prior, and they were unsuccessful. Surprisingly, they also were looking for the model for TV-20C.
I embarrassingly messaged them about it expecting not to get a response because of how many years had passed, but to my surprised, they did. They told me they gave up trying to rip from the DS game, but told me they were successful with the 3DS one. Which surprisingly, used the same models!
Using that model, I was able to get the proportions as close as possible to the game's, and reference the uncompressed textures.
