A little callback to Reed's very first design where he looks like an absolute goblin. (So many bandages... This was during the sonic boom era where we all seemed to think bandages = cool design 💀)
I like to think of his redesign as him outgrowing his edgy phase/just wearing more clothes. But the one thing that stuck was the jewel necklace, worn just under his bandana at all times.
