I wasn't able to finish Inktober last year because of a lot of things—the Global Issue was starting to take its toll, I was having some health issues, and I was just... generally not motivated to keep drawing at all. I got 25 or 26 days in before I quit. I was so close...
This is maybe my fourth or fifth years trying to get through it, and this is only my second time doing all 31 days! I had two or three catch-up days towards the end of the month, and I only got the last drawing done at 11:01PM, but considering I had three days to catch up on, I think I did pretty good!
Overall I'm not happy with everything I did this year ("sprout" especially has me angry and wishing I'd done better), but I'm proud of myself for having been able to do everything. It's always great exercise for me either way, because it forces me to consider both what I want to be drawing while thinking about how much time and energy I can actively use for it on any given day.
If you tried and didn't make all 31 days this year, congrats either way! You drew more than you otherwise would have, and got a ton of practice out of it!
If you, like me, managed to get through his art-hell month, welcome to the club!! We finished the marathon!!
Hope that I get to keep this up for next year. I'd really like a two-year streak...
