Of all the relics left behind by the Pre-Cenozoic cultures, few are as sought-after as the Baetyls. These beautiful, glimmering stones may seem valuable purely for their aesthetic value alone, but their true purpose is far more impressive. Each Baetyl was individually crafted for a specific Asura warrior in ancient times, and when detecting a psionic-capable host, would physically embed itself into their body and merge itself into their nervous system and, through a rapid, painful internal metamorphosis, imbue these individuals with incredible power. Having experienced this infusion first-hand, Dr. Aileas Blair devoted her scientific prowess to the study and understanding of the Baetyls and other exotic technologies the Asura left behind.
