Originally painted for the krita-artists.org 2025 February monthly art contest! The theme was flora (more precisely, welcoming the coming of spring).
This was my first time using the Memileo impasto brushes, so I was still trying to figure them out and wasn't daring enough to use the more textured brushes haha (except in the background!).

The flowers I chose are ones that bloom when the snow first begins to melt: aconites, crocus, and snowdrops. I've never seen these flowers myself in real life as an Australian, but the photos are beautiful!
I would love to know how you interpret this artwork! It's still one of my favourites to this day. :D
Researching for this artwork, I learnt a lot of facts about snow and plants that I didn't think I'd ever need to know in my lifetime lolol
