paints sometimes
Kinda about process, but more as in how you get the idea and then how it ends up in the end (rather than literal "how to paint xyz").
How do you often end up with the idea to draw something, and does it end up looking the way you originally thought it would?
I usually find myself imagining a finished artwork (or several of them) with the character, pose and story that seems interesting. It's then up to praying and hoping my hands can either put that picture on the canvas, or paint something better by doing a bit more planning first to see if I can find a better composition :')
Most of the time though, the art style I usually imagine in is something more akin to a very clean smooth-shaded anime style, rather than the painterly style I normally use, probably because my imagination is kinda fuzzy 🤔
That means what ends up on the canvas, and what I originally imagined, end up being quite different. Idk
Hello world!
I heard about Sheezy.art after someone mentioned it in the comments of a YT video talking about how artists shouldn't use dA anymore, due to the company's aggressive anti-artist tactics.
I think I'll still keep my dA account around to stay in touch with friends, but will probably stop uploading to it from this point onwards. Idk
Either way, I'm so glad there's another site like dA that has a gallery but is not overly professional/formal like Cara and ArtStation are! The infinite scroll format is extremely draining in its own way and I'm tired of it.
I did some "prettying-up" of my page, and... wow, this is way too much power for an individual. Lmao
I think I've made it look... okay(?), lol
