Sanah, callsign "Stray Cat," is a Mech pilot who serves as security aboard the HSF Zaratan, a freighter traveling between star systems at faster-than-light speeds. Due to relativistic time dilation, weeks in transit translate to years on planetary surfaces. Meaning Stray Cat ages far slower than the people she meets at port.
She's quietly dedicated to protecting her crew and prefers to avoid glory and attention.

Five years ago, by her reckoning, the Zaratan got caught up in a workers' rebellion on Saros 3 and eventually sided with the rebels. Stray Cat did her part, she fought and, when it was all over, she just went back home.

Now the Zaratan is back on Saros 3, where, on the surface, nearly a century has passed since her last visit. And Stray Cat just found out there's tavern songs and ballads about her exploits during the rebellion.

She's not sure she likes being the hero of legends.
