hi guys!! I thought I should link my bluesky here for anybody who's over there and wants to follow me there too
https://bsky.app/profile/klorvoid.bsky.social 🖤
I still post here ofc, but due to the nature of it being more like a gallery site, I know I'm not gonna post anything that isn't "polished" enough (constantly fighting my brain over the fact that not everything I post needs to be big polished illustrations but I'm always losing that battle)... which means I'm inherently not gonna post as often here by default, just bc a lot of my work is sketches and wips that feel too "messy" to post to a gallery dfjkgh. I'm slightly more willing to post wips and messy stuff on places like bsky or twitter since they're not big display galleries like sheezy is, so feel free to follow me over there if you want to!
also I made a silly little strawpage awhile back too https://klorvoid.straw.page bc I thought people having little ask/draw boxes was cute, so I'll toss that here as well :-]
thank you so much to everyone for the love on the Felicia W. Keane piece I uploaded... (T_T🖤
I still have so many notifications from the past couple of days to go through, but I'm heartwarmed by how much people seemed to like that piece! I've found so many cool artists on here already too, omg...
I'm usually pretty bad at remembering to multi-post across different sites, but I want to try and keep up with checking sheezy at least somewhat regularly—I miss community-centric, for artists sites like this so much. as much as major socmeds like twitter can be nice for reaching an audience that's outside of artist spaces (since they're ofc way more mainstream and have all sorts of people with different interests using them, it's just easier to get your work in front of more eyes I suppose), I really do miss sites like these that are explicitly catered toward building community with other artists and peers... they're obviously a lot smaller in community due to not being big mainstream sites, but something about them just always feels so cosy!
not to mention being able to write long-form posts/comments again... I'm such a yapper at heart, but obviously, I had to stop that once deviantart started going downhill and I swapped over to twitter. all the mainstream socmeds tend to have some kind of short-form character limit which really chokeholds how much you can actually say to people, so I was never really able to yap anywhere like I was able to back on deviantart. I miss being able to talk people's ears off LOL
I used to love meaningfully engaging with people's posts and leaving longer thoughtful comments, but short-form socmeds have sucked that out of me for a while now... I'm gonna have to get back into the habit of leaving longer, more gushy comments on people's work again, more thoughtful replies to journals and whatnot, stuff like that 🫡
