Modern Axel Gear, 80's Punk-Rock Style.

In the modern take of Rocket Knight, Axel & Sparkster are biological brothers and have their own Rock-Band called 'Astral Crushers'.

Axel is the bassist, backing vocalist, co-songwriter, and poses as the 'bad-boy' of the group. Occasionally, he's given the role as the lead singer/frontman.
The byname 'Gear' is only used on-stage, which he decided to take because he often grinds the GEARs of his friends and family.

Personality-wise, Axel acts like a douche most of the time, and he's well-known to change his 'girlfriends' as often as his underwear. A true womanizer that uses his popularity for a quick adventure.
However, this self-awareness makes it hard for him to keep up a serious, long-running relationship, as he refuses to believe that anyone is really interested in him as a person. To him, all girls are just interested in money, fame, and the bad-boy image. This often results in rejection from his side, and a very colorful vocabulary if a girl doesn't accept a 'no'.

While he seems to be nothing but an insensitive, rude, passive-aggressive, and sex-driven guy, he does have a soft side and is very protective around his friends and family. He stands up for everyone close to him, and wouldn't shy away from a fight if words can't do the job. Of course, he wouldn't openly admit that he cares about others, as this is a clear 'weakness', and he doesn't like to be called a 'softie'.
