harmless little things that make you feel like a kid again.
letting go of your childhood, ignoring things that seem 'childish' for the sake of 'being taken seriously'. that you no longer need such things to function because 'you are an adult now and adults dont do that'. such nonsense.
growing up is realising the responsibilities you have, that now you must fend for yourself. you have responsiblity over what you own, your actions, your words. your partner, your pet, your children.
but like... climbing trees. Stopping to enjoy the steady line of marching ants. Taking in the details of an autumn leaf like its the first time you've ever seen one. Owning plushies because they comfort you. watching that one kids movie again because you love it so much. 'Childish' things we may let go of because the adults in our life always told us that 'adults dont do that'.
No, my dear friend, they were just scared to be themselves in a world where standing out can cause you pain.
I do what makes me happy, i wear what brings me joy, i carry what i wish to hold.
I am unapologetically being me, for me.
what does childish mean and why is it bad? why is it something to quickly remove if you want to 'thrive' as an adult?
things that bring you a genuine feeling of joy, harmless little things that make you feel like a kid again.
so do them, please do things that make you happy.
