SO. Cheshire and Alice both had designs made months before they were redesigned and utilized. Cheshire's old designed was that dark purple cat. I drew him being in love with his old design as a joke.
I also made the old design canon to Alice and Cheshy's past. The old design was what Cheshy looked like when Alice had first read the Alice in Wonderland Books, and he slowly morphed into that neon cat as time went on and Alice daydreamed more and consumed more media (Alice's favorite media was always alice in wonderland-themed).
