a persona surrounding my dc oc sneakers! aka crusader cat. I will post drawings of him and other characters in his story. I will also write some stories mayhaps.

Before becoming the Crusader Cat, Sneakers grew up a stray; living in the streets of Gotham City his whole life with his mother, Pillow (his father, Buck, went missing not long after Sneakers' birth. He's presumably dead). Life as a stray cat was very difficult for many reasons. Food was scarce, the humans they often meet are violent thugs and gang members who see animals as nothing more than pests, and of course they are exposed to diseases and illnesses. Not only that, there are a lot of groups of cats—and other animals, such as dogs—who tend to fight over territory.
Sneakers was extremely close to his mother. Pillow taught him a lot of things, and one of them is to always be kind to others, no matter the circumstances. Sneakers always kept her words in mind throughout his life. But after months of being together, Pillow was captured by humans, leaving an adolescent Sneakers to fend for himself.
Despite losing his mother, Sneakers kept positive and hopeful - after all, that was probably what Pillow would want for him. As he grew and grew, he started garnering a reputation by constantly helping the other strays, even other animals at some point. Many examples: he rescued two orphaned kittens from a hawk by attacking it which in turn hurt him in the process, he nurtured a weak elderly stray cat when they were being outcasted by the younger and more stronger cats, and he fought off a large rabid dog that terrorized the alleys.
One of the strays that Sneakers had helped in the past was an old cat named Mangrove. Mangrove was a local tom who Sneakers often assisted by hunting him prey and grooming him - they even consider each other as friends due to how frequent their meetings are. Unbeknownst to Sneakers however, Mangrove was unlike any other critters.
Mangrove is actually a pet, belonging to a mysterious sorceress who lives in an abandoned apartment deep in Crime Alley. Despite his "pet status", he prefers staying outdoors to observe everything that happens in the city. With this, he notices the heroic acts of Sneakers and how much he impacted others' lives.
One day, Mangrove stumbles upon a weak Sneakers. He was starving, and with the infection on his leg there was no way he could possibly stay alive any longer. Sneakers had spent his days getting food for others and putting his needs aside.
Mangrove believed that this fate was unjust for such a selfless cat, and so Mangrove carries Sneakers back to his master's place. With her magic, the sorceress understands everything that Mangrove is telling her. She agrees that this shouldn't be the end for Sneakers.
She revives him and also removes his infected leg, and not only that, she gives him special abilities that will assist Sneakers so he could pursue more heroic deeds. Sneakers—while unconscious—was sent back to the streets, and that was the last time Sneakers ever saw Mangrove. When Sneakers awoke, he felt healthier and more lively. He continued to live his life, until he eventually became aware of his powers. At first he didn’t know how to properly use them, but as time went on he got a good understanding of how everything works.
As expected, Sneakers took advantage of his new powers to help others in need. Thanks to his powers, he was able to protect his fellow strays from greater threats, and he even started helping humans.
Because of this, he grew more popular to not only animals, but to humans. People started calling him “The Crusader Cat” the more and more Sneakers helped them, and Sneakers embraced the title. Sneakers began exploring beyond Gotham City to help and save more lives.
One day Sneakers was having a stroll near Smallville, looking for anyone who needed his assistance when he met another cat. She was a tortoiseshell cat who lived on the farm and her name was Queen. The two became close friends, and eventually became even more. Together they had a litter of four; Prince, Hopscotch, Astroid, and June.
Sneakers lived with Queen and their kittens for a while, but he felt homesick and missed Gotham greatly. Despite being rampant with crime, Gotham is where his mother, Pillow, raised him and it was a place he called home for many years. Queen acknowledged his feelings and suggested he go back to Gotham. She doesn’t need him to be with her and the kittens all the time, Sneakers can visit her whenever he wants. Sneakers felt uncertain, but he accepted her offer and went back to live in Gotham. He occasionally visits her and their kittens when he gets the chance.
Among his hero escapades, Sneakers fought against a recurring foe. He was a man by the name of Norbert Baltman, a famous (and widely disliked) millionaire and pop singer from Jump City. He is known for his hatred for animals and the lack of care for the environment. He started several movements against animals he considers a threat to human society, and he also encourages illegal poaching. Norbert and Sneakers grew a mutual hatred for each other, and Norbert always came up with brilliant plans to take Sneakers down, but with the cat being more intelligent than he is, none of them worked.
Sneakers took a trip to Star City, where he found a gray Scottish fold cat standing on a tall fence. Her name is Bun Bun and she was the house pet of a wealthy human family. She was extremely playful and curious with Sneakers, and Sneakers immediately garnered a fondness for her. He took her as a second mate, and Bun Bun had his kittens; two named Minnie and Dreamy respectively. Bun Bun’s humans never allowed Sneakers into their mansion, no matter the reputation he has, so Sneakers only met her and the kittens when she was allowed to leave her home. Just like with Queen, Sneakers made sure to visit Bun Bun when he had the chance.
Sneakers’ escapades lead him to meet other superhero animals like him, such as Ace the Bat-Hound, Detective Chimp, Streaky the Supercat, and many more—he eventually joined the Legion of Super-Pets and even the Justice League at some point, despite the struggles he has in communicating with his human-like companions. He formed a close friendship with two heroes in particular; Chauncey, a cat who wields a green lantern ring, and Shrub the Super-Kitten, a shapeshifting alien who takes the form of a small kitten. The three had become best friends and were a dynamic trio when it came to crime-fighting.
While patrolling Gotham, Sneakers stumbled upon a few hoodlums kicking and harassing an albino maine coon cat. Furious, Sneakers helped her by attacking the humans, chasing them off. The cat he saved was extremely grateful and offered to catch him a rat in thanks, to which Sneakers denied. He later learned that her name was Loretta, and she was a house cat who was often let out of the cottage her human lived in. Sneakers was entranced by Loretta’s beauty, and she remained on his mind for quite some time. The two cross paths every now and then, slowly growing close as time went on. Sneakers always tries to impress her but Loretta liked playing hard to get—but she came around and she and Sneakers became a thing, thus making Loretta Sneakers’ third mate.
Loretta had a litter of two; Micah and Jet. After the two neared adolescence, Loretta became pregnant again and she gave birth to a single kitten—though unfortunately, this kitten shortly died after birth. Her death impacted Loretta greatly, and she became the shell of her former self. She couldn’t stop grieving for her lost kit. Sneakers was devastated as well, and he would always try to be there for Loretta whenever he had the time, but it was clear their relationship strayed since that day. Despite everything, Sneakers still loves Loretta, and deep down Loretta still loves him and her two remaining kits as well; although not showing it properly nowadays.
Sneakers had told the whole situation to Queen, and she suggests she hang around Loretta for the time being, to fill in the times where Sneakers just couldn’t be there for her. Queen’s kittens had already grown to be strong and independent cats, and they didn’t really need her to be around them all the time. Sneakers was not confident they’d get along, but surprisingly Queen and Loretta shared a great bond by the time they spent a day together. Sneakers knew everything would be okay then.
