"I foolishly entered this temple...In moments, it drained the life right out of me..."
--from The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Day 13 of Linktober Shadow had "Bones" as its prompt, so as my belated entry, I drew the skeleton of one of the poor unfortunate souls who fell victim to the Temple of the Ocean King in Phantom Hourglass. Yes, I know the position of right arm is anatomically impossible, but that is how the sprite actually looks in the game.
A couple of years ago, I said that Jabu-Jabu's Belly in Oracle of Ages was the absolute worst and most frustrating dungeon in all of Zelda. I take it back; that honor (or rather, dishonor) now goes to the Temple of the Ocean King!! It has everything I find difficult in games: Stealth, enemies that you can't defeat, and the pressure of a timer. And worst of all, you have to keep coming back to the temple over and over and over again during the course of the game! At least Jabu-Jabu's Belly was just one and done!
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone belong to Nintendo.
Drawn on a Nintendo N3DSXL.
