aaaaa just finished drawing a page of a little fan-comic thing i've been working on and broo, idk if its the same for others but its a lot like when i first started dabbling in animation. You don't realize just how much planning/forethought(?) goes into comics and how the panels look, how the text bubbles look/are organized/if its for print vs, web and just wow thats so cool.
There was a bit of a mental block to get over at first but I ended up enjoying i drawing the comic more than i thought I would! I've got a lot I want to try improving upon on the next work, but yea pretty fun exercise. Helped a lot with positioning I think, i don't know if theres an actual word for it but how all the parts of an art piece are positioned on the canvas? I'd made I think 1 comic before this one but that one was more web-comic inspired (and it was like 4-5 panels), while this one has a lot more "stuff".
Like more scenes/backgrounds/character movement and I wanted it to be more graphic novel-y or manga-y.
I can feel my brain physically learning stuff, could also just be a headache ngl, but like text bubbles? dude, crazyyy, maybe its the perfectionist in me but I spent a good while on fonts and looking at that one comic bubbles tiktok guy's page trying to figure out how I wanted to portray "half awake" (ended up with wiggly/melty bubble).
It's made me realize i havent read a graphic novel in a whilllle, web comics are great but idk something about opening a physical book just hits different.
Anywayy if you read this far thanks for giving my little journal a read! If ya'll have been reading any good comics id love to hear about them!
