Malaki has very mixed feelings on Loom. they know he wasn't a good parent but part of them still wants his love and approval. They still wonder if he actually cared about them at all. As the oldest, Malaki had the most actual conversations Loom and he treated them with a little more respect than he did the Fool (and Mearreal, in the AU where he finishes making them) but at the same time, he made it clear that Malaki was a test run, something cobbled together just to prove a point. Malaki doesn't have a purpose, no way to prove that they're worthy of Loom's love and attention. This is contrasted of course by the Fool, who is haunted by its purpose and tries as hard as she can to distance himself from it
