The egg wizard from Halcandra ⚙⛭
I discovered this website after I saw someone mention it either on an art subreddit thread or in the comment section of a YouTube video about social media getting worse for artists, I don't remember exactly which one but it was one of those. I haven't heard of it before, so I immediately looked it up and it's similarity to old school DeviantArt made me really happy! I'm very nostalgic for mid to late 2010s DA. I'm aware that this site is actually a spiritual successor to the old SheezyArt dot com site, and while I was never on there, I did randomly learn about it on some wiki years after the fact and got sad that it isn't a thing anymore. Now I can go here instead!
The best part of smaller websites is less usernames being taken, which means I got to take the name of a popular Kirby character! I usually go by Metaknee online, but I just couldn't resist the opportunity. I'm gonna sort of roleplay as Magolor in comments and try to act a bit more like he does, sort of like I did on Bitview with Meta Knight. But since this is an introduction thread, I'll break out of character for a moment so you get to know me a little better.
I'm Jagoda/Metaknee, a half-Ukrainian artist who's probably the biggest Kirby fan in Poland, if you couldn't already tell by my obsession with taking Kirby usernames. This year I'll leave the Polish borders for the first time in my life and move to Ukraine with my family, so in a couple of months I'll actually be the biggest Kirby fan in Ukraine! My other interests besides Kirby and drawing are Vocaloid, Super Mario, block games like Minecraft, sewing, sculpting and collecting dolls, figures & video games. I'm also queer and otherkin/alterhuman.
Participating in online spaces has been anxiety-inducing for me despite only being a part of positive communities because of negative experiences I've had in the past and the way I acted as a child. I'm always scared that I'm gonna say something stupid and become an embarrassment... I've been really drawn to this website though, so going on here might help me get used to being active online and regain the courage to return to those communities! The fact that I'm used to exclusively lurking in the shadows of YouTube on alternative frontends, only interacting when my favorite creators put an e-mail or an off-site poll for fan-made input of some sort, is also a big part of it.
I hope I stay here and make precious memories! And I hope I don't abandon it after a few months like a lot of other sites...
