Day 3's prompt was "Hatch," so I wanted to do something to represent that. I went with a Pichu hatching from an egg because it's cute and pretty easy to draw! But I also really wanted to incorporate hatch shading into the drawing, too.

I think I prefer hatching or crosshatching on traditional art, but it was still neat trying it on digital. I also wanted to avoid doing too much direct crosshatching and try to just do straight(ish, lol) lines, but I had the highlighting going horizontal instead, and I did feel it needed a little crosshatching to represent the shadow of the egg.
