I am Jaudielle of Bahamut server.
I am the leader of RecklessHearts, my own tiny social LS, mostly for irl friends.

I'm a member of AzureSkies and their events are mostly battlefield and farming events. Like Omen and Ambuscade, along those lines.
Don't get me wrong, these are good and vital events, as it's important that people have actual player company for those things.

The last event I suggested to AzSki was a social fishing event on the Selbina-Mhaura ferries, which imho was a decent success!
AzureSkies has also hosted a teahouse event in the past, which I sadly missed. I am still sad about this. They're a fun bunch!
Social events are nice for getting to know your fellow players.

Therefore, I believe we need both battle and social events for people not to burn out on the game.

Apologies for the following ramblings. I have had this idea rolling around in my head for a few months now.
For the sake of my ADHD brain, I need to keep a few details secret. I'm gonna enlist my roommate Naina to help spread the word since she plays FFXI on stream and might know some active retail players.

As in!
This event is not affiliated with AzureSkies, RecklessHearts, or whatever LS Naina has. You're not required to be a member of any of these linkshells in order to participate.

You just need to show up, play nice, and aim to have fun. Preferably in a cute summer themed outfit.
But it would be helpful if you have a discord for contest and prize communication. I will be sending moogle mail.

I will have a sign-up period to determine how many wants to show up.

• The event will not go live unless there's a minimum number of players able to participate on the specified event day.
• The ideal number is between 7 and 14.
• In the event we don't meet said requirement, we can still go just to hang out and have fun. Maybe just have a prize if we still wanna try the contest ha ha!

Rules:

• No 3rd party tools/add-ons will be allowed during contests as per Square Enix Terms of Service.
• Certain equipment might be against the rules unless everyone has access to it. The equipment will be revealed at a later date.
• Do not sabotage other players during the contest by casting spells on them.
  Or by /follow a player to pester them.
• Troublemakers who break the rules will be disqualified from the contest, but they can still stick around and have fun with us!

However, if the individual continues to cause issues and refuse to stop when we ask politely, a GM will be summoned. No one wants that, so let's play nice.

There will be a contest, a sightseeing/fishing trip, then some chill time to just chat, fire off fireworks and take screenshots for the sake of making some summer memories.
(Maybe the screenshots can be useful as reference if you win an art prize?)

The event schedule will be one of these, depending on player amount:
1.

• The contest can have a maximum of 7 players. If the number of players fit within that number, then we'll first go on the fishing trip/sightseeing.
• Then move on to the firework and chatting part.
• Then we do the contest!
• Finally, more firework and char while points get tallied up!
• Then we'll announce the 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place winners!

• If there's more than 7 players, then we'll make two groups, with one group staying with Naina for the first bracket of the contest, while the other goes on the fishing/sightseeing activity.
• Then there can be a 30 minute break, preferably close to sundown for fireworks and chatting.
• Then the two groups swap places.
• Once all players have been in both the contest and the fishing trip, then we have another firework break.
• The 2 winners of the contest will then square off against each other in a final contest, and there will be a final winner with 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

The event will probably be streamed per Naina's FFXI rule, unless she plays on my char Jaudielle.
Player names will be hidden with /names otherpc, also as per her rules.
Naina's POV will be mostly keeping watch and being social unless someone else volunteers so she can wander around and check on contestants. She might do a running commentary, she might not. Who knows what that cat is thinking.

The contest prizes will be art commissions from me, meakimon/Jaudielle. Other in game prizes will be listed on the official event journal.

I will be the sole artist providing art prizes unless someone else volunteers in addition.

I would just love to have someone else to bounce ideas off on.
I don't know which of my friends to ask about this.
Not a lot of them play anymore. And Naina is useless for this sort of thing... We're too alike.

Naina is already getting Lhoite drawn into the splash art for the event, so she's already getting something out of it! Don't pity the kitty!
